In today's world the computer eases our effort and speeds up processes to a great extent; it plays an important part in every walk of life. A computer has three key units – the Input Unit, the Central Processing Unit (CPU) and the Output Unit. Understanding these three units helps us operate a computer with ease.
1. Parts of a Computer
Data flows through the computer in this order: INPUT → CPU → OUTPUT.
| Unit | What it does |
|---|---|
| Input Unit | Helps to send the data and commands for processing |
| Central Processing Unit (CPU) | The brain of the computer; data is processed here |
| Output Unit | Converts commands received in the form of binary signals into easily understandable characters |
